"un" basiert auf einem sprachlichen muster: jeder tracktitel (ob auf deutsch oder englisch) beginnt mit der vorsilbe "un", wie z.b. "unRest", "unStet", "unBalanced", "unStern" und "unErwartet". die struktur des albums erlaubt es jedem track, unabhängig voneinander zu funktionieren, während er zusammen eine erzählung bildet, die detailreich ist und bei wiederholtem hören an tiefe gewinnt.

musikalisch zeigt xenoton mit diesem album seine hinwendung zu mehr ambienten und cineastischen klanglandschaften. auch wenn es wie eine abkehr von seinen früheren werken erscheint, bleibt die kontinuität seiner künstlerischen linie erhalten. das album knüpft an seine früheren werke "crescent" (2020) und "traveller" (2015) an, erkundet aber auch neue klangräume und bietet ein anspruchsvolles und vielschichtiges hörerlebnis, eine reise in das unausgesprochene und unentdeckte im klang.
